How to Replace Brake Discs
Replacing the brake disc, also called a rotor, on a front wheel drive car is considered a relatively simple task for a car owner.
First, raise the wheels of the car and support with jack stands for safety. Do not work on the car while it is only on a jack. Remove the wheel. Now, to replace a brake disc, the brake caliper must be removed. Locate the caliper attaching bolts, screws or clips that hold the caliper in place and remove them.
Next, remove the caliper by lifting straight out from the center of the wheel. The caliper should be lifted evenly and not one end before the other. It may be necessary to slightly spread the brake pads for easy removal. This can be done by using a pry bar to gently pry the caliper assembly outward. Support the caliper by tying it up with a rope or wire. Do not allow it to hang by the brake hose.

How Auto Emissions Are Controlled and Why
The control of exhaust emissions is a multi-system task. The multiple systems involved are the oxygen sensors, the EGR (Exhaust Gas Return) valve, the catalytic converter and the muffler or tailpipe.
The oxygen sensors help in the control of exhaust emissions by sensing if there is either too much oxygen or too much combustible fuel being released from the engine in the exhaust gas. Depending on whether the engine is burning too rich or too lean the cars computer will adjust the air/fuel mixture allowed at the intake system.
The EGR valve aids in the control of exhaust emissions by measuring the amount of combustible vapors being released from the cylinders at the point of the exhaust manifold after the combustion process but before the exhaust gasses have reached the main line of the exhaust system.

In the summer, what can be better in the afternoon than taking your rollerblades out for a spin and feel that cool breeze that is blowing on your face. The annoying part comes when that silly annoying rock comes into the picture from apparently nowhere and you all of the sudden kiss the concrete breaking your knees, and ruining your whole day.
Of course, by wearing helmets, pads you will stand up better after the fall and you will be able to go faster to that moment of joy. Even if you may not see it directly, the same scenario is plausible for an automobile, and this means that even if nowadays seems implicit, that even automobiles need a lot of protection too, in order for you to have a smooth ride.

What is Automotive Design and Engineering?
The art of designing a car or a truck is nothing short of a miracle. In this piece I am looking at personal motor vehicles, those that are made with both form and function in mind. This, to some people, is a very daunting task. The amount of perfection that people demand in today’s market is almost unfair but somehow all of the engineers and designers can keep up. People want a vehicle that can reach at least one hundred and thirty miles an hour, zero wind noise, twenty five miles to the gallon minimum, and a sleek attractive body to top it all off.
