As I researched whether to convert my gas car to an electric vehicle I discovered that electric vehicles are not a new phenomenon. Actually they have been in existence since the 1830’s but they have recently become popular again due to the rise in gas prices and concern for pollution. These vehicles are used in the most popular sport as golf carts. They have also been used as fleet vehicles used by meter readers. So now I was curious and I needed to know how an electric vehicle works. Below is a simple explanation of how an they work:

First of all, electric vehicles run on electricity, or a charge, the battery attached to the vehicle is plugged in prior to use in order for the battery to fully charge. Charging the battery will depend on how low the battery charge is and also on the charging voltage that is used. Normally the charge can take anywhere from three to eight hours.
